Kirk Cousins gave Great Clips a shoutout—and the Internet noticed

We didn’t see it coming—but we knew what to do when it did.

On Netflix’s Quarterback, 4-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins casually mentioned how much he loves getting his hair cut at Great Clips. No scripts. No show integration. Just Kirk being Kirk, talking about how easy it is to get a consistent cut wherever he is, thanks to Great Clips’ app and Online Check-In.

When we got word that Kirk’s visit to a Great Clips salon in Atlanta was going to make it into the docuseries, our marketing team moved fast to capitalize on the opportunity when the show was released. Not only did we announce a one-of-a-kind VIP Hall of Fade card for Kirk, but we added a unique perk: free haircuts for Kirk and anyone in the salon when he’s there.

The best part? This authentic, brand fan moment went viral. News outlets everywhere picked it up, from People Magazine’s “Kirk Cousins reveals his relatable reason for loving Great Clips” to USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter and Taste of Country. Even Us Weekly joined the conversation.
